Sonia Andreou

Dr Sonia Andreou is an Associate Lecturer in the School of Business and Management of the University of Central Lancashire (Cyprus), where she teaches Advertising and Marketing Communications for creative and sustainable marketing solutions. She earned her PhD in Semiotics and Visual Communication from the Department of Multimedia and Graphic Arts at the Cyprus University of Technology in 2017.
She holds an M.A. in Art History and Theory from the School of Philosophy and Art History at the University of Essex (U.K.), as well as a B.A. in Multimedia and Graphic Arts, from the Cyprus University of Technology. Andreou has taught modules related to visual communication, semiotics, graphic design and advertising for B.A. and M.A. level, at the University of Portsmouth and the Cyprus University of Technology. Graphic design as an art form and a powerful medium plays a dual role during trying times. On one hand, it serves the purpose of carrying crucial information, while on the other hand it can positively affect, inspire and enhance the creativity of a diverse audience, while humanity faces collectively a global threat.
